Our Mission

At Westside we want to emphasize the joy and peace that comes from knowing Jesus as Lord. We hope you will find our worship experience encouraging and uplifting! We strive to be a simple Christ-honoring fellowship, using the Bible as our guide.

Want to worship with us?

We know that coming to a new church for the first time can be intimidating. We want to help make your first time here as easy as possible. If you are planning a visit to Westside, we’d like to know you are coming. If you have any special needs or if you are bringing your children with you, let us know and we will be ready!

Our Beliefs

Westside is part of a fellowship of churches that strives to be "Christians only". By no means do we think of ourselves as the only Christians. Instead, as "Christians only", we take the Bible alone as our guide for faith. We make no demands of Christians which are not made in God's word. We have no additional creeds and are not part of a Denominational organization.

We believe that that Bible is the inspired written Word of God, the final authority for matters of faith and practice. It is God’s revelation about himself and his work among human beings, and is given in order to bring us into deeper relationship with Christ, the Living Word of God.
There is one true God, eternally existing in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. They are co-equal and one God. God, the Creator of heaven and earth, is holy yet seeks relationship with human beings.
The Church is made up of all who are committed to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Christians are called to be the Body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit to continue his work of reaching out to those who are far from God and teaching them to be fully-devoted followers of Jesus.

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, who set aside His equality with God to be present in flesh with human beings in order to show them the character of God, to redeem them through his death, and to conquer death through his resurrection.
We believe in Holy Spirit, sent by God the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit invites human beings into relationship with God, empowers the work of God in the world and in the Church, and produces the character of God in the lives of those who seek to surrender their hearts and lives to the Lord.
Salvation is the free gift of God. Because of sin, we are far from God and unable to restore the relationship by our own efforts. God loves us so much that while we were still sinners, Jesus willingly died in our place so that his blood could cover our sins. This salvation is available to all who trust in Jesus as Savior. The Bible teaches that those who trust in Jesus will repent of sin, declare their faith, be baptized into him and strive to honor Jesus by following his example and teachings.
We practice baptism of believers by immersion, as taught in the New Testament. Baptism is an act of obedience and commitment to the Lord as we respond to God’s invitation to be united with Christ by sharing in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.
We share the Lord’s Supper (Communion) each week to remember Jesus’ death on our behalf and recommit our lives to him. All Christians are welcome to partake in the Lord’s Supper with us.

Loving God. Loving People.

Our Leaders

Like the early churches, we are an independent congregation. We have no denominational structure or headquarters. As a congregation, we elect our own leaders, decide where our money will be spent and determine our own church program. Christ is the head of the Church and we humbly seek His direction as we study His Word and pray together.
